Asciilands guide
Asciilands vs Land of ASCII
Asciilands, Land of ASCII, Asciicker, and Smalland are different games that searches sometimes mix together. This page is a four-row check of platform, multiplayer, towns, and one official URL. It is not a roundup of similar games. Read the row, then use that game's own site.
| Game | Platform | Multiplayer | Towns | Official URL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Asciilands | Desktop or laptop browser | Yes. One shared world | Yes. Player towns after Discord login | asciilands.io |
| Land of ASCII | One HTML file in the browser | No. The itch.io page tags it singleplayer | Villages of people in the fiction, not player-founded towns | oddslice.itch.io |
| Asciicker | Browser, at its own site | Not checked for this table | Not this game’s towns. Asciilands credits the renderer only | asciicker.com |
| Smalland: Survive the Wilds | Windows, via Steam | Yes. Online co-op on the Steam page | The store text says encampments, not Asciilands towns | maximument.com |
Asciilands credits say the renderer is derived from Asciicker and that Asciilands is not an Asciicker release. Land of ASCII is by LVL0. Smalland is a different publisher’s survival game. None of those three rows is a guide to Asciilands.
