Crafting

Updated Tested
Changed in The Tempered Update

Crafting, in the Field Guide, means opening Crafting and turning a raw resource into a refined material. Recipe pages now list the ingredients, stations, times, and icons from the public client catalog. Anvil shaping and engraving remain outside this walked note.

The field-guide step

Step three says: open Crafting and turn a raw resource into a refined material. The button on that step is “Open Crafting”. The menu key is C. Raw material comes from Gathering.

The workbench window says: “Workbench steps reserve materials when started.” The ingredient list itself is on Recipes. Food is on Food, and spell inscriptions are on Spells.

What this page leaves out

The official Craft and forge blurb says you craft tools, smelt ores, and hammer custom gear and weapons at the anvil. The Tempered Update repeats forging, smith ranks, quench and temper, named metals, armor, engraving, and workshop upgrades. Those are title-screen lines. The steps were not walked for this guide, so they are not written here.

The Frontier Update said “Hoes in every metal.” Client Help says smiths forge hoe heads at a forge. This page does not name the hoes. Farming describes the hoe you have to hold.

Engraving and maker marks are on the current bulletin. There is no inscriptions page.
